On September 18, Ouyang Weimin, Vice-Governor of Guangdong province, met with the visiting Executive Committee of South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal province Sihle Zikalala in Guangzhou, and the two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between Guangdong and South Africa in the future. Vice President of CCPIT Fan Xinlin was invited to accompany the meeting.
Vice Governor Ouyang Weimin pointed out that China is South Africa's largest trade partner and South Africa is China's largest trade partner in Africa. With the successful of the China-Africa Forum, the future cooperation between Guangdong and South Africa in various fields will have better prospects. Executive Committee Sihle Zikalala said it is pushing for direct flights between Guangdong and KwaZulu-Natal to facilitate cooperation between Guangdong and South Africa in the fields of economy, trade, culture and tourism.
