Silk Road Chambers of Commerce Cooperation (Xi'an) Roundtable Conference was successfully held in Xi’an on May 24. As an important part of the 18th Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China (ITFCEW) & Silk Road International Exposition, the conference was jointly held by the CCPIT and Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. Over 150 business people from Russia, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan Stan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Oman, Nepal, Georgia, Greece , Hungary, Sri Lanka and Italy were present.
Themed with "New Silk Road as a large platform; promote cooperation and development”, the conference aims to enhance ties among the business associations along the Silk Road, promote pragmatic cooperation among enterprises and regional economic development. Vice chairman of the CCPIT Zhang Wei, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Wang Lixia, president of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, president of Iran-China Chamber of Commerce and other leaders attended and delivered speeches.
Zhang said the construction of Silk Road economic belt will link Eurasian countries and benefit nearly 30 million people in the region. He hoped the business associations along the Silk Road to deepen cooperation, seize the historical opportunity for development, enrich and improve cooperation mechanisms, build commercial legal services platform to promote trade and investment facilitation, and further promote development of economy, trade and investment.
Wang Lixia said Shaanxi is actively promoting the construction of the Silk Road economic belt and striving to build Shaanxi as a new starting point for opening up to the West, regional economic cooperation and exchange of Chinese and Western cultures. She added Shaanxi will give full play to its strengths, work together with other business associations to promote economic cooperation and realize mutual benefits.
The attendants discussed on the construction of Silk Road economic belt and approved the Xi'an Initiative after that.
